Another Horror Film
“THIE RAVEN" is the film version of Poe’s famous melancholy poem, which has been; transferred to the screen bv those master thrill-pro-vokers, Karloff l and Lugosi. The ingenions death-dealing devices described in his “The Pit and the Pendulum” are improved upon in modern scientific by Lugosi, who plays a half-mad scientist. Dr. Vollin, practising Inquisition methods in his underground torture chambers right in the basement of his modern mansion in the middle of the twentieth century. And aided ami abetted in his Crimes, one sees Karloff, whom lie has rendered his unwilling slave by hideously mutilating his face. The supporting east includes.lrene Ware, Lester Matthews, Inez Courtenay and many others.
