Improvements to Petone
Soccer Field
Steady progress is being made on the Soccer field at the Petone _ Recreation Ground, which will be considerably improved before the next football season. The ground about the goalmouths and also the bad patches in other parts hav" been dug up and new turf is being laid down, wh'le general levelling work is being carried out. It is stated that tn. ground will not be used for cricket this season, so that it will have a good chance before the footbakers require it again. Six men are engaged on the job and there are another six working at Koro Koro cutting the turf.
