Championship, field and water trials for Sporting dogs will be conducted by the Hutt Valley Kennel Club to-morrow afternoon, and excellent demonstrations' can be look< d forward to. The ground will be at Waiwetu, Lower Hutt, near the Nai Nai church.
Sub-Centre of the Red Cross Society wishes to acknowledge parcels from Mesdames Laws. Mclntyre. Mullholland. L. Foster, J. Mitchell, R. Y. Shearer, Ltd., the Taita Women’s Institute, and from several anonymous donors.
The monthly meeting of the Lower Hutt branch of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union was held in the Church of Christ on Wednesday, the president, Mrs. Ballautyne, being in the chair. There was a fair attendance of members, and visitors from" Whangarei and Wellington South. A hearty welcome was accorded '.hem, and greetings for them to take back to their unions were extended. Several members gave helpful verses and ideas for work, and arrangements were made for a coin afternoon, which will be of a social nature, to be held next month.
