A smart ensemble —a knife-pleated skirt of black crepe with a blouse and tailored short coat of grey and white daisy printed taffeta —the collar black velvet.

A black satin skirt and short coat and hat of white pique.

Coats are slightly more waisted this season.-

Printed jersey is being used for the latest bathing suits.

Many of the wide beach hats are only brims. You put them on over a handkerchief or veil for a crown.

Pastel linen nightgowns appliqued with satin will take.

The new fashions in hairdressing all have a tendency away from anything that is "set>” and "tight.”

Short bright scarves tie loosely round the neck or inside a narrow stand-up collar with the ends tucked in, » » *

A nightgown of pure white satin with a sash lined with navy blue.

Palest pink very soft taffeta for a nightgown, with two long pleats that ripple out round the feet.
