STAND BY COVENANT
Support For Britain After furl her discussion in private yesterday on the present international situation, the annual conference of the League of Nations Union of New Zealand carried the following remit "That this conference expresses ifs unqualified support <'f the efforts of the British Government to use the machinery of the League to preserve peace in the present dispute, and urges the New Zealand Government to support the British Government, ami that in the event of these efforts proving unsuccessful we urge the Government to stand ay the League Covenant mid affirm its intention to’honour its obligations as signatory to the Covenant by declaring its determination to support and co-operate in any collective action that the League may decide upon."
