The following Hawke’s Bay Rugby League team has been selected to meet Wellington on Saturday on the Show Stadium:- —Full-back, J. Mapuki; •threequarters, J. Plested, JJ. Staples, R. Smith; five-eighths, N. Kihi, T. Gemmell; half. O. Anderson; forwards, H. Cushing, R. Gordine, M. Purcell. D. Rota, G. W. Murray. W. Large. Emergencies: Backs, B. Bliss, S. Exeter; forwards, J. Pongo, N. Wane. Several of the players represented Hawke’s Bay Maoris in n game against Auckland Maoris at Carlaw Park on Wednesday, the northerners winning by the narrowest of margins after a splendid contest.
