HOCKEY TEST MATCH

University Team at Suva

(Received August 26, 9.55 p.m.)

Suva, August 26.

The New Zealand University hockey team drew with Suva, 2-2, in the first Test.

Martin scored for Suva a minute after the start of the game. Even play followed and there whs no further score in the first half. Early in the second spell Ford flicked the ball to Struthers, who scored. Suva returned to the attack immediately after the bully and Boyer scored with a hot shot. Near the end Walter sent out to Walton, who centred, and Huston scored. The visitors out-manoeuvred Suva with their stick work but lacked combination. Suva had the advantage of speed. Ford described the ground as the fastest he had ever played on. The members of the New Zealand team, which arrived by the Niagara, are all well. They were given a civic reception and called on the Governor this morning.
