GERMAN DEMAND FOR COLONIES

Possible Redistribution In Africa

BRITAIN THOUGHT READY TO NEGOTIATE

By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright,

(Received August 26, 7.30 p.m.)

London, August 26.

The "Morning Post's” Berlin correspondent says that Germany’s proclamation of her need for colonies is rapidly becoming a demand for colonies. The arguments are being reiterated because it is understood that Britain is prepared to discuss a redisu ibution. of African possessions. Germany is not willing to permit her insistence op expansion to be ignored when revision of colonies is discussed. The “Allgemeine Zeitung” deciares that if reallotment of African colonies is discussed, Germany has a right to be remembered, because, like Japan and Italy, she needs an extension of sources of raw materials.
