Tiie replaeenient. of the former I'ublic Service Commissioner. Mr. P. Verschaffelt, who resigned from ollice recently, will shortly be considered by the Government. It is possible that more than one man will be selected and that a small commission will be established to carry on the work previously handled by the Commissioner himself. The Prinffi Minister (the Rt. lion. G. W. Forbes) said that tile Government had not discussed tiie position since his return from England, but that the replacement of Me. Verschaffelt would

have to be considered soon.
