Avoiding Competition AGREEMENT POSSIBLE London,. July 21. The President, of the Board of Trade. Mr. Walter Rtuiciman, speaking at a luncheon on .board the new French liner Normandie, foreshadowed the possibility of an agreement between tlie owners of the Normandie and the British liner Queen Mary to avoid unnecessary competition, which he declared would be foolish.
It was most essential that the schedule from 1936 onward should ensure that the vessels were never simultaneously in tlie same port and always running in the opposite direction.
