Methodist Missions Women’s Auxiliary
The annual meeting of the Taranaki Street circuit branch of the Methodist Women’s Mission Auxiliary was held recently in the Wesley Church parlour. Mrs. R. Raine, vice-president, presided over a good attendance of members, and was assisted by the Rev. Percy Paris, superintendent of the circuit. The report presented by the secretary, Mrs. B. W. Gandell. revealed an increasing interest and activity by members in tlie work of missions, both In New Zealand and in the Solomon Islands.
Mrs. 11. S. Maunder, treasurer, read the financial statement, which showed that the sum of £7l had been raised during the year.
The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: President. Mrs. 11. E. Pacey: vice-presidents, Mesdames It. Raine, H. J. Rowe. L. J. Clark. O. E. Burton and Miss Freeman ; hon. secretary, Mrs. B. W. Gandell; assistant-secretary, Mrs. B. O. Stokes; treasurer, Mrs. R. S. Maunder; assistant-treasurer, Mrs. Mercer; Kurahuna treasurer, Mrs. McGoun; pianist, Mrs. W. E. How*; representative to the circuit quarterly meeting. Miss Freeman; representative to council, Mrs. C. F. Smith. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the retiring officers, particular reference being made to Mrs. T. IL Richards, who retired from the office of president after having- held the position ' since the foundation of the branch six years ago. During the afternoon Miss B. Brittian sang three solos, which were very much appreciated by all. The meeting closed with the benediction.
