WORKER BURIED

Accident in Shingle Pit

at Kcreru

Hastings, July 22.

While working in a shingio pit at Keren! yesterday, Mr. F. A. Simmons was covered liy a fall of shingle. His son, Oswald, who was working nearby, immediately set to work to dig his father out. It was found that the buried man had received severe injuries, and after receiving attention from a doctor he was taken to Napier Hospital, where an examination revealed that he was suffering from a fractured pelvis and severe shock. His condition, at first considered serious, was reported to be a little easier to-day.
