Dunedin, July 22.
The quarterly session of the Supreme Court opened to-day before Mr. Justice Kennedy. James Sylvester Henderson was charged with negligently driving a motor vehicle thereby causing the death of a boy. The evidence was that following a collision with a motor-ear accused’s lorry mounted a footpath and struck the boy who died in hospital. The case was unfinished and was adjourned till to-morrow morning. Commenting to the Grand Jury on motoring cases for trial, Mr. Justice Kennedy noted that no fewer than four persons had lost their lives on roads in this district recently. True bills were returned in two cases alleging negligent driving causing death and one case alleging breaking and entering.
