Mr. I’. 1.. McDougall has been elected chairman of the Imperial Economic Commit tee.
Formerly a ivell-known -Murray River orelutrdist. Mr. MeDougail was appointed vice-chairman of the Imperial Economic Committee in January of last year. He was appointed last February, with Sir Mark Sheldon, to represent Australia at tlie initial sitting of the Imperial Economic Committee, fairer lie was made secretary of the Londjn agency of the Australian Dried Fruit Export Control Board, ami conducted a campaign in Great Britain on behalf of tlie Australian dried fruit industry. At tlie last Imperial Economic Conference lie unofficially rendered tlm Australian delegation much help.
