FIRE SUPERINTENDENT
Dunedin Retirement By Telegraph.— I‘ress Ai-vsoci.ilion Dunedin, July 16. Superintendent J. J. Salmon, of the Dunedin City Fire Brigade, will retire on July 31 after completing fifty years in the fire service. He has been retired by the Metropolitan Fire Board on twelve months’ notice —six months on active service and the remaining six months on full pay. Mr. Salmon joined the old Dunedin volunteer brigade in 1890 and was appointed superintendent on June 18, 1929.
Deputy-superintendent R. H. I’riee has been appointed superintendent and one of the brigade’s senior officers has been appointed second in command.
