Gilbert, in presenting the report at the annual meeting of the centre last night. Mr. Gilbert said he thought there was room for improvement in the method of playing the penant competition, and certainly if it were held under the same conditions as last season the clause that had given trouble would be altered. He suggested that the four bowls be used in the New Year pairs. The position shown in the statement of accounts was satisfactory and they came out just about square. However, this year there should be a small credit balance, because they would not be entertaining visitors from Christchurch and Marlborough. The treasurer, Mr. J. The hon. treasurer was voted the same honorarium as last year (£5/5/-1. The secretary’s salary was increased from £7B to £lOO a year. At a meeting of the executive after the annual meeting a letter from the Wellington Bowling Club sug-t gesting that there be adopted a uniform form of application for membership of clubs, which would reveal whether the nominee was financial if already a member of a club, was received. On the motion of Mr. 11. G. Mayer (Wellington club) the letter was referred to the next meeting, the mover pointing out that that would allow delegates to consult the officers of their clubs. The annual levy on dubs was fixed the same as last year. I/10-J a member. The president said that at the next meeting they would consider the pennant conditions. Mr. W. J. Leahy (Lyall Bay) announced that he would propose that the senior pennant competition be played on the system of two at home and two away, and that a second competition, in which a dub could enter four teams or a multiple of four, be held, transfers to be allowed.
