HOMING PIGEONS

Wellington Society’s Show

The Wellington Homing Pigeon Society concluded its series of weekly table shows on Saturday night before a large attendance of interested f:«siciers. The shows this season have eclipti*d all records, and have been a great fill-up during the off season. The show on Saturday was open only to birds who had won a ticket in a show during the season, and was entitled the champion class. There was a class each for cocks and liens, and both classes were judged by Mr. W. Abraham, a Scottish fancier, who had a most difficult job, but his decisions were well received by all present. A silver cup. donated by Mr. J. Bruce, for the best bird of both classes, was won by F. Couper and Son, who were awarded also the Champion of Champions ticket. A silver cup, donated by Mr. B. Henderson, was also Avon by the same cock bird. A silver cup, donated by Mrs. N. Boyd, for the champion hen, was won by Mr. Jas. Perrett. ‘The following were the awards: — Champion Cock, 18 entries: F. Couper and Son. 1 and two cups; F. Ferris, 2; N. Boyd and Son, 3; A. Croekery, V.H.C.; Jas. Perrett. H.C.; N. Boyd and Son, C. Champion Hen, 16 entries: Jas. Perrett, 1 and cup; N. Boyd and Son, 2; F. Ferris, 3; N. Boyd and Son, V.H.0.: N. Boyd and Son, H.C.; Dickey Bros., C. . Dr. Gillies’s silver cup for most points in all shows was won by N. Boyd and Son, with 49 points. Jas. Perrett was second, with 44 points.
