Police Connect Two Thefts

New Plymouth, July 15.

Thieves were active in Waitara last evening. A car stolen at Wellington tw 0 days ago was recovered. A garage was broken into, a ear stolen, and a quantity of petrol and. money taken. The police connect these events, and are carrying out investigations. It is believed that thieves came to Taranaki from Wellington. 'Tiie first stolen car was owned by the Petrous Tire Company, Miramar, it crashed into a telegraph pole on a hill near New Plymouth, and was there abandoned. The thieves apparently then walked to Waitara, about a mile away, where the other thefts were committed.
