Two New Zealanders Out
ANDREWS IN THIRD ROUND London, June 26. The' Wimbledon lawn tennis tournament was continued to-day, when further progress was made in the singles competitions. The weather was fine and warm. „ Two of the New Zealanders, C. L. Malfroy and A. C. Stedman, were beaten, but E. D. Andrews entered the third appeared to have• beaten, but the tenacious little Italian veteran was too consistent in a marathon match. . When Hopman met Stedman it was anyone’s match until the third set had been completed. Hopman found Stedman's forehand more severe than he bad imagined, and Stedman had the Australian doing most of the running. The New Zealander smashed severely, but Ilopman awaited his opportunitj to slice and chop in order to gain the n °Crawford, from the back of the court, easily vanquished Kirby, the Australian driving powerfully and accurately. , ... Ellmer (Switzerland) had the worst of a succession of long-driving duels with Quist. McGrath won with surprising ease against so aggressive a« player as Tuckey. ' . , Borotra gave Menzel a fright.
