War Relief Association At the'meeting of the executive committee of the War Relief Association of Wellington yesterday the following report was presented by the applications , and emergency committees:— "The emergency committee has met on 15 occasions since the executive meeting in May, and. during that period of 27 working days, dealt, with 89 claims, all of which were referred to and confirmed by tlie applications commit lee, which met. on throe occasions and disposed of 108 applications. There are 74 applications still under action, anil the total number of claims received therefore amounts to 182. Tlie number of persons who called at the office during the period under review was 295. "There has been no alteration in the general activities of lhe committee; assistance differing widely in description has been given to disabled soldiers, to men who were discharged fit and subsequently developed a war disability, to the widows of soldiers who fell in action, and of others dying of natural causes. Assistance lias also been given to many others in necessitous circumstances, and in many directions that cannot be referred to within the limits of this report.”
