Palmerston North Seat Dominion Speciai. Service. Palmerston North, June 25. A petition is at present being circulated in the city requesting the Mayor, Mr. A. E. Mafisiord, to allow himself to be nominated as a candidate/ for the Palmerston North electorate at the forthcoming general election. It is understood the original intention was that the petition should be more in the nature of a feeler to discover what public support would be forthcoming, but the response has been such that it may not be very long before the Mayor will receive a large deputation. when the petition will be presented to him.
