Former Residents Meet

A satisfactory financial state was shown at the' seventh annual meeting of Wellington members of the Northumberland and Durham /Association held last night. The association has a credit balance of nearly £3O. Mr. B. 0. ‘Walton presided over a good attendance. It was stated that during the first year the activity of the association had mainly been eonlined "to household gatherings. In accordance with the association’s policyassistance had been given to one of its unemployed members. Thanks were expressed ir. the secretary’s report to the retiring president, Mr. "Walter, and to members of the committee. The library had not proved such a success as anticipated and the question of new books would have to be an item to be considered by the incoming committee. Officers elected were:—President, Mr. J. Meltzer; vice-presidents, Messrs. I’. Semple, B. O. Walton, K. McCallum, J. Alcoek; secretary, Mr. G. Colledge; assistant secretary’, Mr. S. Colledge; treasurer, Mr. B. O. Walton; committee, Messrs. T. Henderson, R. Thirwell, R. Robson, P. Semple, Mesdames L. Gillon, G. Colledge, B. 0. Walton, E. P. Pattinson, F. Miller, 11. Robson; auditors, Messrs. F. Miller and P. Park; trustees, Messrs. T. Henderson and. IL Thirwell.
