MAN FOUND DEAD
Body Beside Gas-tube Dominion Special Service. Masterton, June 25. Frederick John Nicholson, a middleaged resident of Masterton, was. found dead in his room on the first floor of the Academy Buildings, which are situated on the corner of Church and Queen Streets, nt about 9.30 o’clock this morning. Alongside him was a tube leading from a gas-pipe, the gas being turned full-on. From appearances he might have been dead for a day or two. An open ventilator In the roof, allowed the gas to escape, and thus the smell was not noticed until this morning,Deceased, who was a station-cook by occupation, had resided in the Wairarapa since the Great War. It is understood that he was a single man, with no relatives living In New Zealand. It is understood that he left a note, addressed to another occupant in the same building, advising that person of his intention to take his life. An inquest will be opened before the district coroner, Mr. E. G. Eton tomorrow. ’
