CHATHAM CUP MATCH

Council Orders it to be Replayed Because the Thistle team in the Chatham Cup match against Abel’s at Auckland on Saturday included a player without a clearance, the match will have to be replayed, the council of the New Zealand Football Association decided last evening. The Thistle club, who were the winners, are to be asked for an explanation. As a result of complaints received, it was decided to issue instructions to all affiliated associations for periodical inspection of players’ boots, to be carried out by the referees. Mr. J. J. Macdonald reported that three senior teams had been organised in Gisborne, and there was a prospect of gathering a fourth together.
