Delayed by rain in the discharge of her Liverpool cargo at Auckland, the Shaw, Saviil steamer Pakeha is now due here from Napier on Saturday. She will leave on Tuesday to complete at Lyttelton and Dunedin. PORT FAIRY’ AT LONDON. The Commonwealth and Dominion Line’s Port Fairy, which left Wellington on May 18 for London, via Cape Horn and Dakar, reached London on Saturday last. CANADIAN CRUISER LATER. Canadian National Steamships have received advice that the Canadian Cruiser will not be here from Lyttelton until Friday to discharge and load: she will sail on Saturday for New York. Boston and Montreal. WESTMORELAND PUTS TO SEA. The Federal steamer Westmoreland, loading at Wanganui, had to put to sea yesterday owing to bad weather. NIAGARA FOR VANCOUVER. The Canadian Australasian liner Niagara, which left Sydney last Thursday, cleared Auckland yesterday for Suva., Honolulu and Vancouver. THE PORT WHANGAREI. Under part-time charter to the Union Company, the Port Whangarei is due at Nukualofa to-morrow from Auckland. THE CITY OF SALISBURY. The A. and A. Line chartered steamer City of Salisbury, for which the Federal Line are local agents, is to leave Auckland to-morrow for Wellington, being due here on Saturday, to continue discharge of cargo from New York. She will leave on Monday to complete at Lyttelton, Dunedin and Australian ports. WAIPAWA TO SAIL. The Shaw, Saviil motor-ship Waipawa. now completing her Homeward loading at the Glasgow Wharf, will sail at daybreak on Friday for London, via Cape Horn. WAIPAHI AT AUCKLAND. The Union Company’s Waipahi, in the Island trade, reached Auckland from Suva yesterday morning. She is now due here on Sunday, attd will leave on Monday for Dunedin and South Island ports. GABLE ISLAND LIGHT OUT. The Auckland superintendent of Mercantile Marine has received advice that Gable Island light is It will be relighted as soon as possible. NAVIGATION WARNINGS. The Director-General of the General Post Office advises that the following navigation warning, broadcast by Adelaide radio, has been received :—’’Shipmasters are warned that the master of the Mlldura reported that at 1 p.m. on June 20, with Cape Otway bearing .088 degrees distant 17 miles, he sighted a large Moating log about 30 feet long.” MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Mr. R. V. W'aldron has returned from holidays and is standing by at the head office of the Union Company. Mr. X S. Buchanan has joined the Rangatlra as assistant purser after holidays. Mr. J. Broad has returned from holidays and joined the Mouowai as junior purser. AUCKLAND’S NEW TUG. Particulars of the twin-screw steam tug building by Lobnitz and Co., Ltd., Renfrew, for the Auckland Harbour Board, are given in a recent issue of the “Syren and Shipping Illustrated.” She will be of 150 tons register, with a length of 125 ft.. beam of 32ft. and mean draught of 13ft. The two trljfle expansion engines will develop a total of 1500 i.h.p. and give her a maximum speed of 12 knots and a static pull of 14 tons. The scantlings will be 10 per cent. In excess of Lloyd’s requirements, and she will be fully equipped with electric lighting, flood-lighting, and signalling apparatus. No fewer-than 22 tenders were received by the Harbour Board, ranging from the successful one of £26,366 of Messrs. Lobnitz to £41.930. A further £2OO has been added to the contract price by additional items agreed upon after recommendation by the board’s engineer. Delivery of the vessel is to be made early in the New Year. MONOWAI THIS AFTERNOON. The Union Company’s Intercolonial liner Monowal, which arrived from Sydney on Monday, and is berthed at the Plpitea Wharf, will now sail this afternoon at 3 p.m. for Auckland. She will leave there on Friday afternoon for Sydney.
