Horticultural Society
LATE MR. CHAPMAN’S WILL Advice was received by.the Hutt A alley Horticultural Society at its annual meeting lust: night that under the will of the late -Mr. G. A. Chapman, a former vice-president, the society had been l>equeatlied a legacy of £lOO to be invested by the society, the income to be used for an annual prize. The trophy will be Known as the Chapinaii Memorial Prize, and will be competed for in the aniutenr section. It will be awarded to the exhibitor gaining tlie most point s in I lie deeoratd basket and table section, and will not be awarded to the same person for two years, in succession.
Deep regret nt the death of Mr. G. A. Chapman was expressed at the annua; meeting of the Hutt Valley Horticultural Society last night. .Members stood in silence as a mark of respect, and placed ou record their sympathy with bis relatives. “He was probably one of the oldest members, and he did a tremendous amount of work for the society.” said the president. Mr. D. S. Patrick.
