HUTT VALLEY Y.M.C.A.

Monster Queen Carnival Being Organised The Hutt Valley Y.M.C.A. is organising a monster queen carnival, and it is hoped by this means to pay off the last instalment on the building and to raise sufficient money to provide facilities for more extensive work. A triangular contest is to be fought, the queen contestants being: “Sports,” Miss Dulcie Nicholls; Ladies’ Y.M.C.A. Auxiliary, Miss Kempthorne; and Y.M.C.A. Board and members. Miss Vera Burns. The various supporters and committees have comprehensive programmes of a well varied nature in hand, and competitions, street days, children’s fancy dress parties, pingpong tourneys, dances, card parties, and picture entertainments arc being arranged. It is stressed that the organisation has become a necessity to any progressive community, and for that reason it is hoped that the spirit of' the carnival will takp on among the public, who must realise the good work the Y.M.C.A. is doing for the young people.
