License

Dominion Special Service. Palmerston North. June 10. for a breach of the Second Hand Dealers Act. 1908. W, U. P. Collins was fined £2 and 10/- cdsls by Mr. J. L. Stout S.M., in the Palmerston North Magistrate's Court at Palmerston North to-day. The actual charge was that defendant carried on business as a secondhand dealer when not the holder oi a second-hand dealer’s license. Senior-Sergeant Moriarty said that defendant had been dealing in second-hand bicycles. He was not the holder ol a license entitling hint to do so. Counsel for defendant said his client had made application to the Palmerston North City Council for a second-hand dealer’s license about six months ago but despite frequent inquiries he had been unable to obtain anv satisfaction.
