CROSSING SMASH
Motorist Convicted For Not Keeping Look-out Do.m in ion Special Service. Palmerston North, June 10. Arising out of a level crossing accident at Paekakariki on March 17 last, It. E. Sims was charged in the Magistrate’s Court at Palmerston North before Mr. J. L. Stout. S.M.. with having failed to keep a vigilant look-out when approaching the railway crossing and with having attempted to cross when the line was not clear. Defendant was convicted and ordered to pay costs, amounting to 10/- A plea of guilty was entered. It was pointed out by counsel for defendant that his client had already been severely punished as he had received personal injuries and had lost his car through having no insurance cover on it.
