Two Towns Swept, Away REPUBLICAN VALLEY AREA By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received June 2, 6.40 p.m.) New York, June 1. A message from McCook, Nebraska, states that flood conditions which caused loss of life in many sections in recent days readied their peak in the,Republican River Valley of South Western Nebraska, where between 170 and 250 persons are reported to have perished. Meanwhile about 40 are reported to be dead owing to floods in Colorado, Wyoming, Texas, Kansas and Missouri. Communications with Republican Valley are broken, it being impossible to ascertain the. exact death total. Fragmentary reports state that two towns Max and Parks, with a total population of 150, have been swept away and possibly all tlie inhabitants were killed.
