MOCK AIR RAID
Three Towns Revert to War Conditions HUNDRED MILES DARK (Received June 2, 7.25 p.m.) London, June 1. Great Britain's first air raid black-out was conducted at 11.30 to-night, when 130,000 inhabitants in the neighbouring towns of Chatham, Rochester and Gillingham suddenly reverted to wartime conditions. War planes flew over, sirens shrieked and warning rockets soared. One hundred square miles, including Chatham dockyards, were thrown into darkness. The police ensured the voluntary observance of improvised regulations. '
