ESCAPE OF PRISONER
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, June 2. A prisoner named William Brewer, aged 51, escaped from the express near Uuntly early yesterday morning while being ‘brought from New Plymouth to the Mount Eden Prison. He is stated to be wearing a grey suit, grey felt hat. tweed overcoat, soft collar and tie. and black boots, making a presentable appearance. No trace of Brewer was found to-day.
