Farewell Party Many friends of Mrs. Murdo Mcßae met recently in the Palm Lounge of the Hotel St. George to say farewell to her before her departure for England. Mrs. Alfred Fortune and Mrs. S. Luke "were hostesses, and those present were Mesdames Ardell, Baillie, Cathie, Henderson, Newton, F. Clarke, Hardie Boys, F. M. Clarke, Meir, Brighting, Tapling, McCune, W. Luke, Roskruge, Williams, Griffiths, Dayman, and the Misses Wallace and Dinant.
Mrs. Luke presented Mrs. Mcßae with a posy of flowers and a handsome embossed writing case (specially made by a returned soldier at the hostel where Mrs. Mcßae has been such an ardent worker). Mrs. Mcßae responded, after which “Auld Lang Syne” was sung, bringing a happy gathering to a close. Afternoon Tea • Sister D. White who has been appointed in charge of the Maternity Annex, Rotorua, was the guest of honour at an afternoon tea at St. Helens Hospital, Wellington, recently The staff sitting-room was arranged with light and colourful poppies and autumn leaves. After a delicious tea had been served the medical superintendent, Dr. Agnes Bennett, made a presentation to Sister White of a handsome eight-day clock, suitably inscribed, on behalf of the medical staff, the matron and sister staff. Dr. Bennett spoke of Sister White’s excellent record of eight years’ service, and wished her every success. Miss M. I. Lambic, Director of Nursing, Dr. Paget, Inspector of Hospitals, and Dr. lan Ewart were also present, as well as Miss Arnold and other members of the staff.
