Mr. Wallis Myers, the well-known tennis authority, writing in the “Daily Telegraph,” says that while an Australian victory in the first round of the Davis Cup competition can be confidently predicted on relative form. Stedman will not easily lie beaten by Australia’s second singles player. Australia will also need its best effort to win the doubles.

Mr. 11. Ilopman, the “Sun-Herald” cable agency’s representative, writing from Eastbourne, where tlie match starts on Saturday, says: “Andrews is the only New Zealander here.
