TOWNSHIP REACHED

Fog-bound Cattlemen PRIVATIONS ENDURED Melbourne, April 18. The 12 cattlemen who were fogbound on the Bogong high plains struggled through a snowstorm to the Tawonga township, exhausted by privations. They were forced to leave the huts, which were almost buried by the snow, at the height of the storm, because their food had given out. Two other parties of stockmen also arrived from the Bogong ranges. Their cattle dogs had suffered greatly, and when one party reached Tawonga, each man was carrying his dog across the saddle. A cable message received on Wednesday stated that the cattlemen had been mustering 10,000 cattle for a week. During the four days the men were confined to their huts 3ft. of snow had fallen.
