The Junior Dominion

Dear Boys and Girls, — All these competitions seem to be rather exciting; anyway, I have received lots of entries already, and 1 am trying very hard not to peep into them until Inkling and 1 settle down to the difficult and exciting task of judging them all. Of course, wit knozv that Easier things must be here by Wednesday at the very latest, and that the Wednesday following marks the close of the autumn competitions. Those subjects, by the way, for those who may have missed them last week arc: Story, drawing or poem about (a) ‘‘The Lost Leaf,” (b) ‘‘Treasure Trove,” (c) “The Golden Shadow” or (d} “The Secret Valley.” I went mushrooming on Saturday, and I rather zvondered if I sazv any League members zuhile I zvas about it, ford was at Rcikiorangi, and lots of letters come to me postmarked from there. It is raining this afternoon, moisty and misty. Perhaps it zvill hurry the mushrooms up again, or perhaps they’ll feel disheartened and quite disappear. I’m longing to write a really autumn letter to you, but I must wait until page day for all news in that direction. Here’s another zveek azuay. Love to you all,
