EXCURSION TO PICTON

A last opportunity this season of a day’s jaunt to Picton and back will be by the Rangatira’s excursion on Easter Monday, when the big express steamer will pull out from the Lyttelton wharf at Wellington at 8 a.in. for the run across Cook Strait, and should be at Picton by 10.30 o’clock. Shortly after, a special train will be leaving for Blenheim, ireturning to catch the Rangatira before she sails on the trip back. The beautiful surroundings of the little port will offer picnic places and walks for those who elect to stay about Picton itself, and launches will run from the steamer wharf to some of the bays across Queen Charlotte Sound. The return from Picton will start at. 2.30 p.m., and the Rangatira should be tied up at Wellington again shortly- after 5 o’clock.
