Driver Killed in Lorry Collision By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, April 12. George E. Nutter, aged 55, a carrier, of Otahuhu, was killed instantly early this morning when his light lorry collided with a heavy lorry owned by Waione Piggeries, Ltd., and driven by Arthur E. Viles. The deceased left home in the dark, presumably for tlie Westfield abattoirs. When he reached tlie Great South Rond a collision took place with the other vehicle, which was going in tlie same direction. Tlie light lorry was almost a total wreck, and Nutter was found lying in tlie channel about a dozen yards away. The heavier lorry jumped the kerbing, and smashed through a wire fence into a vacant .allotment seventy yards from the scene of the collision. It is understood that Viles jumped from his lorry, receiving some slight abrasions to his hands and nose. Nutter leaves a wife, and also a daughter, Mrs. K. R. Kay, of Gisborne.
