Company to Disband
J|£R. F. W. TURING announces that, when “The Cedar Tree” finishes its Sydney season, ho will disband the company and concentrate on a programme of “crazy variety,” which he is to stage shortly in Melbourne. lie had hoped to take “The Cedar Tree” to New Zealand, but could not secure suitable consecutive dates there. Hiss Gladys Moncrieff has decided to go to London to devote herself to further vocal study. Miss Phyllis -Baker and some of the other players in "The Cedar Tree” will appear in Mr. Thring’s Melbourne productoin,‘and Mr. Will Quintrell will conduct the orchestra for it. Mr. Alfred Frith has signed a contract with J. C. Williamson, Ltd. He will appear in a number two company, which is to stage "The Dubarry,” “Viktoria and Her Hussar,” and other plays in the larger country centres of Australia, and also probably in New Zealand.
