OVER 10,000 NAMES
Biggest Supplementary Roll on Record MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS While the clerks in (lie municipal electoral roll office at the Wellington Town Hall have been kept only moderately busy throughout the extra week allowed by eleventh-hour legislation, they had a lively day yesterday, when the roll closed. Three clerks were kept going fairly steadily throughout Hie day. and at times there were little rushes of late-comers anxious to see if their names were on the roll. and. if not, to repair that omission. Naturally the extra week and repeated warnings from Press and platform have stirred a good many people Into attending to their enfranchisement. As a result the supplementary roll will contain over 10,000 names, which will make it a record for Wellington. Owing to the intervention of rhe Easter holidays, the supplementary roll will not be available until about a week before the election—about May 1.
