Continuous rain during the afternoon and evening. The barometer fell steadily all day and last evening registered 29.85 in. Christchurch. — Overcast but fine, with a moderate cast-north-east breeze; light rain fell in the evening. Maximum temperature, 63.5 deg. The barometer was falling and last evening registered 29.65 in. _ Dunedin. — Fine but overcast, with a light north-east breeze. Maximum temperature, 67deg.
