A proposal to close the Midland Grand Hotel at St. Pancras, which is well known to New Zealand visitors to London, is being considered. The hotel and St. Pancras station were designed , by the late Sir Gilbert Scott, .and the exterior embodies reproductions of details from Winchester and Salisbury Cathedrals, and from Amiens and Laon. The hotel, which was opened in 1868,- is an integral part of the general dseign of the station.
