FOOLISH THING TO DO
Motorist’s Own View of Speeding Offence “I realise it was a very foolish thing to do, and I will be more careful in future,” said Thomas Langley Webb, who was fined £1 in the Petone court yesterday for driving in a manner that might be dangerous to the public. “You’re a young fellow, and I know young fellows are apt to get. out of hand at times,” said Mr. A. Coles, J.P., who warned defendant to be more careful. The Petone borough inspector, Mr. G. A. Booth, said defendant had been travelling at 42 miles an hour near an intersection and had passed two or three cars on the wrong side of the road. The following persons were fined £1 for exceeding the speed limit: John Vallance Reid, Howard William Smith and Robert Miller Black. Jack E. F. Foot, Frederick McCormick, and Gordon Charlton Young were fined 10/-.
