The Wellington Boys’ Institute Si.ver Band will leave this evening for the band contest at Timaru. The band is the present, holder ol the B grade quickstep championship, and will de fend that title there, as well as trying to gain several others Several of its competitors will take part in the so'o contests. The band will assemble nr the Courtenay Place Irani shelter at 0.45 p.m., and will march from there to the inter-island ferry. Mr. A Iremonger is the bandmaster, and will be in charge of the boys.
