YESTERDAY’S WEATHER
Warm and Sunny in Wellington A fine, warm and sunny day was experienced in Wellington yesterday. A light moderate south-easterly breeze blew in the morning, but in the afternoon it turned to the east. The minimum temperature on Tuesday night was 62.0 degrees, the maximum temperature yesterday 78.0 degrees, and the temperature at 4 p.m. 77.0 degrees. Masterton again experienced humid conditions, although there were several rain showers. In the afternoon the sun shone brightly, and there was a light easterly breeze. The weather at Wanganui was intensely hot, with bright sunshine most of the day and occasional cloud. Temperatures were the highest this week. Warm showers fell in various parts of Central Hawke’s Bay. The maximum temperature at Waipukurau was 79deg. at 2 p.m. Overcast and unsettled conditions and light, drizzling rain were experienced at Auckland, the wind being a moderate to fresh easterly. The barometer was steady at 29.85 in. all day. The weather at Christchurch was fine with a fresh east-north-east breeze. The maximum temperature was 72.9 deg. The barometer after falling was steady last night at 30.02 in.
Dunedin experienced perfect summer weather, Hie sun shining from a clear sky. A light southerly breeze prevailed. The temperature at midday was 70 degrees, and the maximum for the day 71.6 degrees.
