Greasy merino made 21(1. The new Tasmanian steamer Taroona, which left Greenock on January 25 en route to Australia, is due at Melbourne on February 25. The Taroona was built by Alexander Stephens and Sons, of Glasgow, for Tasmanian Steamers Pty., Ltd., and is a twin-screw’, oil-burning vessel of about 4000 tons gross. She is fitted with refrigerated chambers and has accommodation for 450 passengers. She was launched on November 24 and will take up the Launceston run from the end of February, when the Nairana will be transferred to the Burnie-Dcvonport service.
