OBITUARY

Sir Henry Lambert (Britisti Official Wireless.) (Received February 12, 5.5 p.m.) Rugby. February 11. The death has occurred of Sir Henry Lambert, aged 66, for some years assistant Under-Secretary at the Colonial Office, and Senior Crown Agent for the Colonies. He retired in 1932. ' Sir Henry Charles Miller Lambert, K.C.M.G., was born in 1868, and educated at Eton and at Oxford. In 1892 lie entered the Colonial Office, and in 1597 he acted as private secretary to Mr. Chamberlain for the House of .Commons Select Committee on South Africa. From 1597 to 1907 he was Chairman of Committee of the Emigrants’ Information Office. Sir Ilenrv visited Canada in 1903, and two years later toured Australia and New Zealand. He was Assistant Under-Secretary of State at the Colonial Office, and secretary to the Imperial Conference from 1916 to 1921. Sir Henry Lambert was Acting Under-Secre-tary of State for the Colonies from 192425, and in 1932 he retired from the ofliee of Senior Crown Agent.for the Colonies after eleven years’ service.
