DUTY AS ELECTORS

Reminder to Youth At a meeting of the Wellington group of the New Zealand Pioneers on Monday evening, Mr. C. Meachen presiding, it was stressed that a public announcement should be made immediately to all young men and women, advising them that they should make early application to enrol on the electoral rolls for the forthcoming local body elections. It was mentioned by members that a large number of young people appeared to be apathetic concerning their responsibilities as citizens.

Mr. Meachen was congratulated by members on his nomination as a candidate for the Wellington Hospital Board. It was decided to reaffirm the original rules of incorporation that the Pioneers are a non-political organisation and win not take any official part in the forthcoming elections, with the exception of inviting various candidates to address their members.
