Distance T elephone Calls “ Person-to-Person ” When you wish to speak to someone in a distant town, and have no precise idea as to his whereabouts (e.g,, you may not be able, in the case of a visitor, to name his hotel, or, in the case of a resident, to say whether at the moment he will be found at his home or at his business) ask the operator for a “Person-to-Person” call. All reasonable steps will then be taken to locate the person required and to bring him into telephone conversation with you. In “Person-to-Person” calls, the chargeable time does not commence until the two principals actually engage in conversation; and the additional charge is small—ranging from 6d. upwards according to distance.
