Building in Lower Hutt increased during January, and 21 permits to the total value of £0484 were issued as compared with 13 permits valued at £6617 for the same month last year.
Sister M. Westrup, N.G., presided oyer a good attendance at the rtcent meeting of the O Kiwi Iti Rebekah Lodge, No. 44, 1.0.0. F. Sister Brammel, Ro.se of Wellington, conveyed greetings from her lodge and personal greetings _ from Bro. Finch, Palmerston North. Sister Craig, Star of Petone, conveyed thanks for sympathy from Sister Turner,. Palmerston North, and fraternal greetings from Sister Finch. At the conclusion of lodge businass members played . Heretaunga, No. 115, for the shield, the visitors winning by one game. It was decided to open lodge on February 13 at 7.15 p.m.
